This Cookie Policy explains how datascienceway.com uses cookies and similar technologies, in line with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work, remember your preferences, measure usage and deliver advertising. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels.

Your consent

When you first visit from the UK, EEA or Switzerland, a consent banner (Google’s certified Consent Management Platform) asks for your choices. Strictly necessary cookies are always active; all other categories are set only if you agree. You can change your choices at any time via the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer.

Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function and stay secure, such as remembering your consent choices and WordPress security/session cookies (for example wordpress_test_cookie, and comment cookies such as comment_author_* if you choose to save your details). The consent platform stores your choices in a cookie such as FCCDCF or FCNEC.

Analytics (consent required)

Google Analytics 4 cookies such as _ga and _ga_<ID> (up to 2 years) distinguish visitors and sessions so we can see which tutorials are helpful.

Advertising (consent required)

Google AdSense and its third-party vendors use cookies such as __gads, __gpi, IDE and NID to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and, where you consent, personalise ads based on your browsing. Durations typically range from a session to 13 months. A list of Google’s cookies is available in Google’s cookie policy.

Third-party vendors

Advertising partners participating through the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework may set cookies when you consent. The full list of vendors and their purposes is shown in the consent banner under “Manage options”.

How to control cookies
